Okay for high school I really want to make the varsity squad. And my high school's requirements for varsity is one thing. You have to have your back handspring. I am so close to having it, i could taste it, but the fact is, i don't. Tryouts are in the spring, and I go to this thing called open gym at my all-star gym to work on my tumbling. I can't get classes, but I really want this before tryouts, any advice on what I could do to be able to throw my bhs? Thanks in advance! Very Happy Like a Star @ heaven

I take a private lesson for an hour each week with a tumbling instrustor!

its amazing! You probably only need one, before you get it!
also, going to open gym helps too!

Thanks I now take classes for 1 hour every Monday and since it's a small group, I get better attention than at open gym. But open gym has improved my BHS a lot. They say I am ready to start doing it by myself and I'm scared to. Any advice?

Just breathe. Don't give yourself time to think. If you get too worked up and can not throw it, take a step off the mat, take a breath and step back on the mat and throw it immediately.

Just remember to go through all the steps of the backhandspring. As long as you do that you won't get hurt. No worries! Best of luck
