Oh gosh! Do I hate conditioning but it is absolutely necessary if you want to be successful at cheer. Here are some tips:

~STRETCH: Hold each stretch you do for at least 3 minutes, that way you get a really good stretch.
~RUN: Running builds stamina, and you should run for 5 min. before stretching because it warms up the muscles. Another plus is strong legs, so you can push off for tumbling.
~CRUNCHES: For cheer and almost every other sport you'll play, you must have a strong inner core (Especially for fliers). And your inner core is your abdominals. Do crunches to work those and make them strong.
~PUSH-UPS: Tumbling requires a lot of upper body strength. Push ups are the things to do for stronger arms.
~PRACTICE: Practice the skill you are trying to learn, this way, when you get it, it'll be perfect and you'll probably get it sooner.

Hope these help!
Very Happy

I would also have to say that holding your spilts for 30 seconds to a minute will help improve your splits.

Other helpful tips:

Variations of Crunches:
~Do your crunches with one leg bent and one leg straight out and 6 inches off the ground.
~Do your crunches with you legs to the right side, and then the left, to reach those side abdominals.

Not only is conditioning working out, but it is also eating right. Don't eat a whole bunch of junk food or you won't have the energy to condition and practice. Eat healthy, be happy, train hard, and have fun.

I would consider yoga as pre-conditioning practice. Yoga practice or classes can help you with balancing your strength and weight and also help you build flexibility.
